Introduction to the production process of THF and PTMEG

PTMEG, as the first major downstream of BDO, is a presence in the BDO industry that people cannot help but understand. Its downstream mainly includes spandex, polyurethane elastomer , polyether polyol and polyester ether copolymer elastomer (TPEE), etc., which are widely used.

The production process of PTMEG consists of two stages: the tetrahydrofuran (THF) stage and the polytetrahydrofuran (PTMEG) stage; the production of THF consists of cyclization reaction and refining, while the production of PTMEG consists of polymerization, alcoholysis, neutralization drying filtration and narrowing processes.
