Different molecular weights of PTMEG，different uses

PTMEG, also called Polytetramethylene Ether Glycol, Polytetrahydrofuran, cas 25190-06-1, is an important chemical raw material, mainly used in the preparation of spandex in the field of chemical fiber, and in the preparation of elastomer, adhesive, coating, sealant and other fields in the non-fiber field, with its preparation of polyurethane products wear-resistant, chemical resistance, good flexibility and resilience. At present, the top three uses of polytetrahydrofuran are Polyurethane elastomeric fibers (49%), polyurethane elastomers (36%) and ester-ether copolymer elastomers (15%) in that order.

According to its different molecular weights, it is mainly divided into PTMEG650,PTMEG1000,PTMEG1800,PTMEG2000,PTMEG3000,PTMEG6000,PTMEG8000 and so on. Different molecular weight of PTMEG, its use is also different.

1.PTMEG with molecular weight of 400-800: mainly used in the preparation of soluble materials, such as resins, coatings, glues, adhesives, etc.

2. PTMEG with molecular weight of 1000-2000: mainly used for the preparation of high performance polyurethane elastomer, polyurethane foam, shoe sole material, printing and dyeing auxiliaries, etc.. In addition, it can also be used to prepare resins, glues, adhesives, plastic modifiers, etc.

3. PTMEG with molecular weight of 1800-4000: It is mainly used to prepare thermoplastic elastomer, anti-vibration pad, plastic modifier, etc.. For example, it can be mixed with other polymers to make durable elastomeric materials. In addition, it can be used to prepare special coatings, resins and coating additives, etc.

4. PTMEG with molecular weight of 6000-8000: It is mainly used to prepare materials with high strength and durability, such as special coatings, sealing materials, high-performance polyurethane elastomers, etc.
